Several producers were involved with the production of the album, including Diplo, Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, Salaam Remi, Labrinth, *The Neptunes* and Max Martin. The album follows the genre of "revolutionary pop", which Usher had depicted and introduced in November 2011.
